Bill Guerin is the new Minnesota Wild GM. This former hockey player will elevate to the top spot in the Wild head office.
In three decades from the ice to the back office Bill Guerin brings his experience as a winning player and most recently assistant GM of the Pittsburgh Penguins and in turn the GM of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to the state of hockey. He is now the forth General Manager in Wild history. This American born hockey player has played for a number of NHL teams during his 18 seasons on the ice and was inducted to the US Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015. During his time with the Penguin organization he was involved in many their Stanley Cup Playoff wins.
In an interview with the Wild’s Ryan Carter Guerin said, “I just want to come in here and get better. This team can definitely get better and if we do the right things at the right time, everything is here for us to win.” Guerin will get to work with some former team mates in the front office like Mike Modano who tweeted about the hire today.
Couldn’t be happier for Bill and his family. Congratulations https://t.co/1lBJDSlNg7
