UPDATED: Halloween Events In The Brainerd Area

HALLOWEEN EVENTS 2022
The Brainerd High School Key Club will, once again, be collecting non-perishable food items for the lakes area shelters and food banks during its We Scare Hunger Food Drive.  Notes have been left on the doors of many Brainerd/Baxter neighborhood homes asking for donations.  Then on Halloween, Mon. Oct. 31st, member of the club will return to those neighborhoods and collect the food left out by those who want to help.


THURS.  OCT 27

The Pequot Lakes SuperValu invites kids to its annual Halloween Party on Thurs. Oct. 27th from 4:00-6:00.  Kids are encouraged to wear their costumes and stop by the store for treats, games and fun!  Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

FRI.  OCT 28

Paul Bunyan Land will again scare the Yell out of the Brainerd Lakes area by hosting Hidden Hollows’- The Mill on Fri. & Sat. Oct. 28 & 29 from 7:00-10:00 each night.  The “scream team” consists of over 100 “actors (“seriously demented people”) and is different every year!  Tickets are $14 for the haunted house, $18 for the corn maze, or both attractions for $28.  Concessions will be available.  For more information, visit Facebook and search Paul Bunyan Land.

Holst Acres’ Haunted Hollow
will be open for big-time scares on Fri. & Sat. Oct. 28 & 29 from 7:30-10:30 all four nights.  Venture through the haunted corn field and the haunted woods.  Take a hayride on the haunted trail and experience both live and animated Halloween scares!  This adventure is recommended for ages 13 and up.  Some content may NOT be suitable for younger children OR for those who scare easily.  Tickets are $15 for regular admission…$30 for a Fast Pass. Safari North Wildlife Park just south of Baxter is currently hosting Safari Scare, Central Minnesota’s newest and scariest haunted trail!  The trail is open Fri. & Sat. night (Oct. 28 & 29) AND on Sun. Oct. 30th, from 6:00-10:00.  Please note there are NO LIVE ANIMALS on display or used during the “safari.”  Parental discretion is advised – mature audiences only.  Tickets are$15, and $1 off that admission with a canned good.  For more information, visit Facebook and search Safari Scare.

SAT.  OCT 29

The 5th Annual Pequot Lakes Halloween Event will be held on Sat. Oct. 29th in Trailside Park from 10:00-12:00Trick or Treat from (participating) business to business, enjoy treats and also juice and s’mores at a bonfire in the park!  The event is hosted by Pequot Lakes Community Action.

Destination Downtown Brainerd Coalition presents a SPOOKTACULAR event on Sat. Oct. 29th on South Seventh Street in Downtown Brainerd starting at 11:00.  From 11:00-1:00, kids can trick or treat from business to business.  There will also be a ton of family fun, food trucks and live music until 2:00.  At 6:00, enjoy live music and a costume contest at Ya Sure Kimbucha.  For more information, visit Facebook and search Destination Downtown Brainerd.

It’s a No Tricks and All Treats Halloween Party on Sat. Oct. 29th at the two lakes area Cub Foods stores (Brainerd & Baxter).  Get the kids in their costumes, grab a bag to haul their goodies and bring them to either the Brainerd or Baxter Cub Foods store between 11:00-2:00, where they will enjoy games, prizes, goodies and fun! ((Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.))

Community of Hope Church of the Nazarene
in Brainerd will host its 2022 Trunk or Treat in their parking lot on Sat. Oct. 29th from 2:00-4:30.  Bring the kids, big and small, dressed up in their Halloween costumes and get some goodies as you trick or treat from decorated trunk to decorated trunk!  The church is on Johnson Road on the east side of Highway 210 north of Baxter.

Experience the haunted thrills of Alice In Wonderland, Underwater World, Jurassic Park, The Nightmare Before Christmas and more as the Northland Arboretum hosts a Low Scare Trail & Trunk Or Treat event at the Arb on Sat. It’s time for the Nisswa Fire Department’s 24th Annual Haunted Barn & Hayride on Sat. Oct. 29th!  Join the fun from 5:00-7:00 for a “not so scary” event, then from 7:00-9:00 for a very scary event.  The evening will include the haunted barn, a hay ride, food, games, surprised and more!  The Haunted Barn is on Gardenview Rd in Nisswa (just follow the signs).  For more info, visit Facebook and search Nisswa Fire Dept.

SUN.  OCT 30

Kids are invited to Trunk or Treat at The Woods in the parking lot of Gather On 3 on Sun. Oct. 30th from 11:00-2:00.  This FREE, safe and fun event for kids will feature a haunted bus tour with spooky surprises and free popcorn! The Center in Brainerd will host Scary Bingo on Sun. Oct 30th starting at 1:00 and everyone is invited!  $7 a card for 16 games and every winner will get a $25 Cub Foods Gift Card.  The coverall winner will get $50 in Cub Foods gift cards.  There will also be a meat raffle happening at the same time and a free lunch will follow Bingo.  (Starting at 11:00 that same day, there will be a Boot, Purse & Jewelry Sale as well).  More info. at TheBrainerdCenter.com.

The Nisswa Lions Club will host a Halloween Trick or Treat event on Sun. Oct. 30th from 2:00-4:00 in the parking lot at Schaefer’s Foods in Nisswa.  Free hot dogs and candy will be given out to kids ages 0-12.  Kids 13+ can get a hot dog with a free-will donation!  Learn more on Facebook by searching Nisswa Lions Club.

The Ideal Fire Department will host a Trunk Or Treat event on Sun. Oct. 30th at their facility on Butternut Point Road from 2:00-5:00.  Costumes are encouraged and kid will enjoy games, goodies and more!  All are welcome!

Trunk or Treat is back at the Northern Pacific Center in Brainerd as they have teamed up with Journey North Community Church to host the event inside the Brainerd Exchange!  The event will held on Sun. Oct. 30th from 2:00-5:00.  Come in costume!  All are welcome.

Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa will host a Trunk Or Treat event Sun. Oct. 30th from 3:00-4:30 at the church’s parking lot behind Schaefer’s Foods.  This will be an allergy-friendly event with no-candy options available.  Hot cocoa and popcorn will be served in the church’s Celebration Center and carnival games and a bounce house will be set up outside.  This is a free event for kids.  All are welcome.

Aitkin United Methodist Church
in Aitkin will host a Trunk or Treat event on Sun. Oct. 30th from 3:00-5:00 in their parking lot!  Grab a bag for candy, get those costumes on and join the church for this 8th Annual event.  All are invited and all are welcome.

MON. OCT 31

Join the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office for its Trunk Or Treat event on Mon. Oct. 31st from 3:30-6:30 at the Crow Wing County Public Parking Lot on the corner of Laurel and S. 4th Street in Brainerd.  The free family event will provide safe trick or treating for kids along with displays from the K9 team, bomb team, squad cars, the tactical team, mounted patrol and the recreational division.  Costumes are encouraged!  It will be a spooktacular good time!  For more information, visit Facebook and search Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office.

The 3rd Annual Trick or Treat event at the Franklin Arts Center will take place on Mon. Oct. 31st from 4:00-6:00.  Kids are encouraged to come in costume and enter through the south entrance.  This event is handicap accessible.  Franklin Arts Center is on Kingwood Street in Brainerd.

Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center
invites families to a fun Halloween Party on Mon. Oct. 31st in the parking lot of the hospital in Brainerd from 4:00-9:00.  (Weather permitting,) enjoy music, candy, and inflatables (plus information on mental health).  This event is hosted by Essentia Health and Smiles For Jake.

All tiny goblins, superheroes, and ghouls are invited to Trick or Treat outside the spooktacular windows of the Care Center at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby from 5:00 to 6:00 on Halloween, Mon., Oct. 31.  This is a safe, friendly event for children age 10 and younger who want to wear their favorite costume and have a fun-filled Halloween adventure. Stations will be set up outside of the residents’ windows for social distancing with self-service pre-packaged candy.

Christ Community Church (on Hazelwood Dr.) in Nisswa invites kids to its annual Trunk or Treat family event on Mon. Oct. 31st from 5:00-7:00.  Enjoy candy, hot dogs and apple cider.  All are welcome.

The Cuyuna Lakes Chamber, City of Crosby, Hallett Community Center and the Hallett Library invite kids to Trunk or Treat at the Hallett Community Center in Cosby on Mon. Oct. 31st starting at 5:30.  Come in costume, do some trunk or treating, and stay for a spooky movie with popcorn starting at 6:30.  The Hallett Center is at 470 8th St. NE is Crosby.  For more info, visit Facebook and search Hallett Center of Crosby.

Kids are invited to the Halloween Trick or Treat Drive-Thru at the Pillager Fairgrounds Community Center on Mon. Oct. 31st starting at 5:30.  The event will continue until all the bags of goodies are gone.  One bag per child.  Guests can drive in through the south gate (closest to school), pull up to the main door, collect the treat and exit through the main gate!  The event is hosted by the Pillager & Area Lion’s Club.
