According to a press release from the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, two individuals, a fish house and ATV went through the ice on Platte Lake on Sunday, December 27th.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office got the call around 6:15 pm on Sunday. The two individuals were able to get out of the water and on to shore. The ATV and fish house are reportedly still in the lake.
This is a good reminder that ice thickness varies from lake to lake and can change overnight.
