Ground breaking on the new Brainerd Splash Pad brought out the city and park officials Tuesday afternoon. The ceremony honored the efforts of the citizen non profit group organized expressly for fundraising the project. The Splash Pad will be the cornerstone of the Memorial Park improvements, along with a hockey rink, ice skating rink, tennis and basketball courts. The improvements will be on the south side of the park along Q Street in Northeast Brainerd.
