The Minnesota Vikings Have Released Daniel Carlson And Signed A New Kicker

Less than 24 hours after a tie at Lambeau Field after 3 missed field goals, the Minnesota Vikings have reportedly released rookie kicker Daniel Carlson.

According to Adam Schefter, the Minnesota Vikings will have a new kicker when they face off against the Buffalo Bills next Sunday.

So the natural question to ask now is “Who will be kicking for the Vikings now?” That question lasted about 5 minutes.

Dan Bailey, the former Dallas Cowboy and historically accurate kicker, will now be handling the duties for the purple and gold. It was also reported that Bailey turned down multiple offers from teams, presumably making a calculated gamble that a team with super bowl aspirations would come calling soon.

Carlson somewhat sealed his fate last Sunday when he missed an easy field goal at the end of overtime that would’ve gave the Vikings a massive victory after making a comeback against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. But it was not meant to be and now the rookie who set records at Auburn will be hoping for a shot at redemption with another team.
