UPDATE (March 13th 9:48 am): It has now been announced that the parade has been canceled.
ORIGINAL STORY: With the coronavirus affecting events across the country, the Crosslake City Council held a special meeting this morning to review the latest information and recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control, presented by Crosslake Police Chief Erik Lee. After the presentation, the Council voted unanimously to proceed with the St. Patrick’s Day Parade as planned.

As of now, some of the independent organizers have chosen to cancel some of the coinciding events, including the Clover Dash 5K and the Crosslake Fire Department’s Pancake Breakfast.
The Brainerd Lakes Chamber and the Crosslake Chamber expressed thanks to the Council and the business community for supporting this decision. They also remind everyone that we must all share the responsibility to be smart and safe. They ask everyone to review the US Chamber of Commerce coronavirus web page for recommended best practices for businesses.
Individuals can get information on the coronavirus by going to the CDC website.
