Suspect Arrested By Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office After Two Hour Negotiation

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office released a press report Friday stating that they arrested a suspect in an active homicide investigation after two hours of negotiation Thursday night/Friday morning.

Crow Wing County Dispatch got a call just after 11pm on Thursday night about a shooting complaint in Lake Edward Township. The caller reported several gunshots were heard nearby.

Officers encountered an adult male that was armed with a rifle and a handgun. That led to deputies negotiating for almost two hours and eventually a resolution of the suspect putting his weapons down in a safe location right before he was taken into custody.
