B93.3 Midday gal Tess Taylor is originally from Duluth, MN where she grew up, went to East High School and attended college at UMD.  It’s also the town where she began her career in media.  She began working the audio board and doing floor directing for weekend newscasts at WDIO TV (a Hubbard Company).  She started in radio in 1996 working overnights at a country station in Duluth.  She worked her way through college working at that station (on-air, marketing, PD for Duluth’s Radio Disney)- then a few others and another TV station before moving to Mexico on a whim with a friend in 2000 where she lived for three months.  When she returned, she decided to move to the cities where she landed a job with Radio Disney Minneapolis (ABC Radio) and after 4 years there in marketing, she wanted to be back on-air.   In 2004, Tess landed a job through BL Broadcasting in Brainerd (NOW Hubbard) and moved to Breezy Point.  She married in 2005 and has been with the company and her hubby since then.  Tess and Derrick have a daughter, Lola, who was born in 2013 and is the absolute love of their lives.  In her spare time, Tess likes to volunteer at a number of area events, she is passionate about raising funds to find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease through Team Tess Taylor (www.alz.org/walk), and just being at home with her daughter after school.  Tess is our company’s news director, Public Service Director, and all around Pain In Our Sides, but we’ll keep her because she simply loves country music and nobody else will accept the low pay.
