Due to the recent events, and circumstances outside of their control, the board of directors for Brainerd Community Action has made the tough decision to cancel this year’s Arts in the Park event in its entirety. “We are grateful to the city of Brainerd and their parks department for working with us to create a safety plan and a version of the event we all felt could be held with everyone’s health in mind. However, with new requests coming from the state of Minnesota and some hesitation within our vendor community, we have decided it is best to turn our efforts to 2021,” said Community Action Executive Director, Dave Badeaux.
The level of interest in the event is greatly appreciated and the board made note that it felt very strongly it was important to give artists in our area an opportunity to showcase and sell their items this year. The revised date had hoped to be an opportunity for local artists who, like other businesses, have been hit hard this year. However, it is best to now turn our collective efforts forward to next year’s event which will take place the Sunday before the 4th of July come rain or shine.
”Brainerd Community Action would like to say thank you to everyone who has made Arts in the Park so special over the last decades and to thank you for your interest and commitment to the arts. We look forward to seeing you all again next summer,” Badeaux concluded.
