Three Ways to Open a Bottle of Beer . . . Without a Bottle Opener

Oh, sure you can drink beer with a twist off top, or you could drink good beer.  Let’s say you’re ready to open a bottle of beer . . . but you can’t find the bottle opener.  This video from “America’s Test Kitchen” shows you how to do it using kitchen utensils.  In this case, either a pair of tongs, a spoon, or a garlic press.

For the tongs, you grab the cap and pull it UP until it pops off.  For the spoon you hold the bottle firmly at the top and basically scoop the cap off.  The garlic press technique is the same as the spoon.
