-1 in 3 family pets will get lost.
-Without ID, 90 percent of lost pets will not return home.

We had member of the NLR staff on the “Brighter Side of the Brainerd Lakes” Tuesday morning on B93.3:

Northern Lakes Rescue is a 501(c)(3) foster-based dog rescue.  Northern Lakes Rescue and its dedicated volunteers save dogs here in Minnesota by working with various American Indian reservations, taking in owner surrenders and unclaimed stray dogs, and pulling dogs that are scheduled to be euthanized out of Minnesota shelters.  Northern Lakes Rescue’s lifesaving work extends far beyond the Minnesota border, however.  Every month, NLR brings 50 – 60 dogs from Texas back to Minnesota to find their “fur”ever homes.  NLR works with overcrowded high-kill shelters and various other Houston area rescues that take in stray and injured dogs from the harsh and dangerous streets of the Houston area.  Since its beginning four years ago, NLR has helped more than 2,000 dogs live the happily-ever-after lives that they all deserve.
