Northern Lakes Rescue Hosts Microchip Clinic

Nlr Chipclinic

Northern Lakes Rescue is hosting a low cost microchip clinic for all animal owners who want to make the drive to Crow Wing County Fairgrounds on June 12th.
Microchips reunite owners with their missing pets more often and faster than those that are not chipped.
-Pets with microchips are up to 20 times more likely to be reunited with their owners.
Only 5% of dogs in the US are microchipped.
-1 in 3 family pets will get lost.
-Without ID, 90 percent of lost pets will not return home.
-A microchip is the only form of pet identification that is permanent, with a unique number that cannot fall off, be altered or be removed.

Also going on during the event at the fair ground:
Microchip with lifetime registration $20 per chip
Nail trims $10
LIVE Caricature artist from Twin Cities Caricature for a Cause
Max and Neo dog collars $15 or 2/$20
Organic catnip, dog treats and NLR gear for sale

Enter at south entrance and follow signs to Industrial Building

We had member of the NLR staff on the “Brighter Side of the Brainerd Lakes” Tuesday morning on B93.3:

Northern Lakes Rescue is a 501(c)(3) foster-based dog rescue.  Northern Lakes Rescue and its dedicated volunteers save dogs here in Minnesota by working with various American Indian reservations, taking in owner surrenders and unclaimed stray dogs, and pulling dogs that are scheduled to be euthanized out of Minnesota shelters.  Northern Lakes Rescue’s lifesaving work extends far beyond the Minnesota border, however.  Every month, NLR brings 50 – 60 dogs from Texas back to Minnesota to find their “fur”ever homes.  NLR works with overcrowded high-kill shelters and various other Houston area rescues that take in stray and injured dogs from the harsh and dangerous streets of the Houston area.  Since its beginning four years ago, NLR has helped more than 2,000 dogs live the happily-ever-after lives that they all deserve.
