The newest eatery is now open in a part of town where it’s very much needed.

Brainerd Family Restaurant officially opened for business on Monday, February 11th.

Local owners Julie and Sam Maksuto recently moved from Wisconsin and are excited to meet the hungry locals!

Brainerd Family Restaurant looks to have one of the most expansive menus in the Brainerd Lakes area. If you’re like me and crave an omelet for lunch, that’s what the Maksutos offer, breakfast all-day every day!

The restaurant that has gone by many names in the past… Green Mill, the spectacularly delicious Ranatas Italian Restaurant and lastly Brainerd Cafe.

The previous restaurants have all had liquor service options. As of now, Brainerd Family Restaurant does not plan to utilize the bar area.

Their current hours of operation are 6am-3pm 7 days a week but they may expand to weekend dinner hours down the road.

My tastebuds had me stop in for a bite today and I was quite impressed. Service was great, food was fresh and tasted quite good. For a guy like me that doesn’t miss too many meals, I left full. Checks all the boxes for me. Plus it’s in my neck of the woods so that’s a bonus! I’ll be going back. Gotta try a burger next…
