Music Video Shot In Nisswa Up For Midwest CMA

When our National Anthem is playing at the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza on Saturday, the voice will be of an up and coming country star. Dariann Leigh is no stranger to the Brainerd Lakes Area and will be joining us for our tradition on ice this year.

Dariann is a singer and song writer from Karlstad, MN, way up in the northwest part of the state. She grew up writing and singing and finally while attending college at The University of North Dakota decided to take a giant leap of faith and follow her dreams in music.

One year ago her debut single “Give Me A Minute” was released and made some waves on music row. Dariann made a music video for that song and chose to shoot the video in the lakes area. Even though she hails from northwest Minnesota, her family has a cabin on one of our area lakes. It was the natural backdrop for her song and helping to tell the story of “Give Me A Minute.” You will definitely recognize some of the scenery in the music video that is up for a Midwest CMA Video of the year for 2019.

We are excited to welcome Dariann Leigh back to the Brainerd Lakes Area and our grandest winter event, the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza on January 25th.

Dariann Leigh is nominated for the Midwest CMA New Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year. The Midwest CMA’s are on February 16th at the Medina Ballroom.
