MNDOT Urges Caution On Highway 371 During Ice Fishing Extravaganza

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is letting people know about the heavy traffic that is set to occur for the Extravaganza.

According to a press release, MNDOT is letting motorists know that on Saturday, Janurary 26th, Highway 371 between Brainerd and Nisswa will be slow or stopped traffic. Single lane reduction and flaggers will control traffic from Saturday at 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

It was also noted that contestants for the Ice Fishing Extravaganza are encouraged to use the two shuttle bus service locations. Those are located at the Brainerd International Raceway and the temporary parking lot at Highway 371 and the north junction of Crow Wing County Road 77 in Nisswa. Those shuttle busses will be running from 8 a.m. until around 5 p.m.

It was also announced that the Minnesota State Patrol will have increased patrols and DWI enforcement to help support local law enforcement for the event.
