Lunch Buddies is a new School-Based Mentoring Program provided by Kinship Partners and is designed to introduce students and adults to the art of mentoring. The object of the program is to improve a child’s social skills and self-esteem in order to foster a better attitude for learning: ultimately improving school success.

Lunch Buddies has been impacting schools in Staples, Motley, Pequot Lakes, and Crosby since 2015 and made its debut in Brainerd at Harrison and Riverside Elementary last year. Kinship Partners recently launched a Lunch Buddy program at Garfield Elementary and plans to start a Lunch Buddy program at Lowell Elementary in January of 2019.

Kinship Partners and our Lunch Buddy program are at a critical crossroads. Lunch Buddies has grown faster than we anticipated and we have lost key funding that is jeopardizing launching and maintaining new Lunch Buddy programs.

Kinship Partners must raise $10,000 before February 1st to help launch our new Lunch Buddy program at Lowell Elementary and maintain our new Garfield Lunch Buddy program in the Brainerd area.
