Just What Does Rowing A Boat Have To Do With College Football In Minnesota?

RTB

For the first time in my entire life, I can honestly say that I’m excited for Gopher Football.

I’ve endured countless boomers telling how great it used to be, never having anything but feeling of mediocrity for the big Twin Cities College. I grew up in an era where the NFL was king and college ball was the minor league. Suddenly, it’s different.

Suddenly everybody is “rowing the boat”. I had no idea that we even had a boat. What does this boat rowing have to do with football and why is I so infectious? Apparently it is a big enough deal that the ESPN show that people who watch college football seem too know, is coming to Minneapolis. The reason I know this is because every Tom, Dick and Ole posted it on Facebook this week like it’s bigger than Christmas!

Minnesota and Wisconsin are getting set for what is shaping up to be an epic addition to their rivalry and season finale. For the first time in modern history the Gophers have a chance to be a real championship contender. With only one loss to Iowa this Gopher team has grabbed the attention of the entire state like never in my lifetime. It’s hard NOT to get on the wagon, or in this case get in the boat.

So, as the fever reaches it’s all time high, just what is all this boat rowing doing to make the Gophers become this winning football machine? What is the deal with P.J. Fleck that has been THE game changing effect on college football in Minnesota?

Hand me an oar. We got some rowing to do!
