It’s Picnic Day, What’s For Lunch?

Coming off of last year when we ate most of our meals outside in restaurant parking lots this may not excite you. I mean, just what everyone was hoping for:  Another reason to do some outdoor dining.

April 23rd is National Picnic Day.  And according to a new survey, 94% of Americans say they like picnics.  5% of people say they don’t like picnics, and 1% HATE them.

The most popular places to have a picnic are:  A park . . . by a lake . . . on a hill . . . at the beach . . . and in the backyard. Personally, I like picnics on the pontoon in the middle of the lake.

And people’s favorite picnic foods are:  Sandwiches, fried chicken, watermelon, potato salad, chips and dip, deviled eggs, pasta salad, fruit salad, pie and baked beans. My menu choices always involve grilling something, so I try not to load up too much on the potato salad.

Picnics at parks are nice. What park is the best for picnicking in the lakes area?
