The Greater Lakes Area Realtors Association along with Pampered Pets, All Paws Pets Wash and B93.3 were part of the 2nd annual Dashing Doggie Pageant held at the GLAR offices in Baxter. The event on September 23rd was a fund raiser for the Heartland Animal Rescue Team (HART), in Baxter. The event included a number of the members of the Realtors Association as vendors and promoted how having pets helped make a house a home. Plus it brought attention to the need for forever homes for the pets awaiting adoption at HART. With just a $10 entry fee for community members to parade their pet through the Dashing Doggie Pageant to be judged on things like the softest fur, longest ears, longest and shortest tails. The entrants were also able to show off their talents and there was a costume contest. At the end of the pageant everyone was treated to demonstration by the Baxter Police K9 officers.

On Wednesday, October 24, Bill Satre from B93.3, representing the Greater Lakes Association of Realtors Board and Publicity Committee he serves on as a member Realtor, presented HART a check for the money raised from the event.  Donna Wanbeke, the Executive Director at HART accepted the check at their office on Dellwood Drive in Baxter Wednesday. She informed us that HART is currently in need of money, cat litter and people who are looking to open their home to being a forever home to one of the many cats that they have available for adoption right now.
