Instead of hosting the annual walk in the spring Heartland Animal Rescue Team decided to try something different to raise money.
They are inviting all dog adoptees and their families as well as the public, to join them for a fun event this Saturday morning at the Whipple Park in Baxter. There will be a three mile walk from Whipple Beach to Inglewood Drive and back.
The walk will be led by Terry Fisher, a supporter who has raised over $100,000 over the past 18 walks, and HART alumni Ali. Ali was adopted as a puppy and has made great strides in agility work. All HART alumni dogs will receive an event bandanna.
Registration will begin at 10:00 am with walk to follow at 10:30. Registration information is available online at HARTPets.org
It will be great to reconnect with all the great dogs that have been adopted from the shelter. And of course the community dogs that just want to party.
After the walk lunch will be sold and the fun contests will begin. These include:
- Homecoming king and queen will be crowned to reign over the festivities. All dogs are welcome to participate
- Oldest dog
- Most recent HART adoption
- Costume contest
- Dog traveling the furthest to attend
Events emceed by Hubbard Radio Brainerd’s Bill Satre. There will be animal related vendors set up. HART will be selling event t-shirts.
The goal for this fundraiser is to raise $10,000 for direct animal care. Please help HART reach this goal. If you can not attend please feel free to donate on the website or the PayPal account at hartshelter.live
Remember: ALL DOGS NEED TO BE DOG AND PEOPLE FRIENDLY AND CURRENT ON ALL VACCINATIONS TO ATTEND THIS EVENT. No flexi leads please.
