Local radio has been your predominant source of local emergency information in the Brainerd Region for many years. Radio stations like B93.3 and the other Hubbard Brainerd properties work closely with our local authorities to notify you when there are road closures or other situations that will likely affect your travel plans or safety. Recently the city and county have made a service available that will directly notify you of these situations on your phone or computer. For those instances when you are not with your radio, you can still have the security of being informed. Introducing Crow Wing County Alert, powered by Everbridge.

 

Over the past three weeks I have been test driving this new feature by receiving alerts from text, phone call and email. Chances are that you would just choose one of those means, but for the test I chose all three. The service was very useful for the number of weather related announcements we have received including Snow Emergency Declarations.

It’s easy to sign up for and you can select the alerts you will receive. For instance you may not want info for Brainerd as much as Crosby or Pequot Lakes. You can select your community or all of the communities.
