
Members of the Brainerd School Board met for a special meeting earlier today and cast their votes on whether educators and students will be required to mask.
By a 4-1 vote it was decided staff and students will be masking when the 2021 school year begins next month.
Tom Haglin was the lone nay vote.
Summer COVID data for active staff and student cases were shown with 10 staff absent due to symptoms or they were awaiting test results or had a positive case in their household in addition to 5 staff members having tested positive.
On the student side there are 4 positive cases and 11 absences due to symptoms and awaiting test results.
