The Elks annual Flag Day Ceremony is coming to the Brainerd Elks Facebook page, on Sunday, June 14th at 4pm. It will be delivered via video and available to view at what would be the normal date & time.
Bill Satre from B93.3, the chair of the committee stated, “In planning the event, we could only work around the restrictions that were in place at the time. We look forward to returning to an open celebration at the Veterans Memorial next year.”
The Flag Day video will be available on the Elks Facebook page from this Sunday at 4pm to next Sunday at 4pm.
Satre continued, “Thank you to the committee who faced this challenging set of circumstances and allowed us to innovate one year outside of our normal routine. With the Armory being remodeled, we couldn’t get chairs. With the High School under construction, we didn’t have access to community cable television. With the rules regarding Covid, gatherings to the standards we would demand are not allowed. Crow Wing County, however, presented an opportunity to use space to continue with our event in a carefully regulated way. We are grateful for that!”
