Brainerd Community Action and Brainerd Jaycees have announced the 2018 Outstanding Citizen of the Year.

It was announced that Eryk Haapajoki has been selected as the 2018 Outstanding Citizen of the Year by the Brainerd Community Action and Brainerd Jaycees. The press release states that:

Eryk is an individual who has been recognized as a dynamic leader that has a unique ability to touch many hearts with his genuine personality and has an ability to pull people together for the benefit of many. He has also been noted as a wildly ambitious visionary with contagious enthusiasm.

Award Criteria included:
• The award is to be given to a living person
• The nominee will have volunteered services that are above and beyond normal employment or business pursuits
• The services performed have contributed to the welfare of the community
• The services were performed for an extended period of time

A Distinguished Service Awards banquet will be held on October 26th, 2018 at the NP Center (210 Blacksmith Circle, Brainerd, MN) starting with a 6:30 social.
